ON A LONG JOURNEY WE FELL IN LOVE WITH THE VINTAGE FABRICS OF THE SOUTH-AMERICAN ALTIPLANO.
FOR CENTURIES THE LOCAL COMMUNITIES HAVE CREATED FABRICS THAT STAND IN COLORFUL CONTRAST TO THE SOFT SHADES OF THE STUNNING SCENERY. THE BLISTERING SUN, THE THIN AIR AND THE CRYSTAL BLUE SKIES OF THE HIGH ANDEAN MOUNTAINS MADE THEIR FIERCE COLORS FADE, TELLING US THEIR PART OF HISTORY.
NOT ONE TEXTILE IS THE SAME—EACH IS HANDMADE AND NATURALLY DYED—YET ITS DISTINCTIVE COLOR-PATTERN AND STYLE GIVES AWAY THE MAKERS IDENTITY AND LOCATION
IN THIS VAST AREA.
TOGETHER WITH THE LOCAL MAKERS WE WISH TO HONOUR THESE VINTAGE TEXTILES BY TRANSFORMING THEM INTO SOMETHING TO LOVE AND TO KEEP FOREVER.

Our textile collection found its way from South-America to you. The fabrics were encountered in a far-away corner of Bolivia and taken to the highest capital in the world—La Paz. There they were transformed into bags.
Most fabrics are vintage or antique pieces, up to a hundred years old. Not one textile is the same, each is hand woven, freely and from the heart.

Above 4000 meters things look different. The Altiplano is the South American
high-plateau that is one of the most elevated, expansive spaces on Earth. Once the land of the Incas, now a place where the wind blows and raw nature still rules....

During our travels we became fascinated by the natural beauty of the Altiplano.
At an average height of 3750 meters the starkly beautiful barren landscape holds
mind-deluding salt flats, snowcapped volcanic peaks, high altitude deserts and vibrant
mineral-stained colored lakes.
